We participated at the EDA AHWG SARUMS Workshop

Fincantieri NexTech attended the EDA Ad-Hoc Working Group focused on Safety And Regulations for Unmanned Maritime Systems – AHWG SARUMS workshop, which was held from November 23rd to 24th, 2023, in Brussels.

The workshop, which was organized by the European Defence Agency – EDA, provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of the Unmanned Maritime dimension, to look at the state of the art in the robotics Domain and to shape the Unmanned Management System – UMS landscape towards more coherence in particular for space management and safety and regulatory perspective.

In this context, the NATO exercise REPMUS ’23 in Portugal was a great opportunity to create tailored experimentations and to strengthen links between manufacturers, researchers, and end users.

Fincantieri NexTech together with Fincantieri and IDS collaborated in the REPMUS 2023 with the Italian Navy CSSN (Centro di Supporto e Sperimentazione Navale), NATO and partner countries and NATO Centres of Excellence, and NATO STO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation – CMRE, to test in a realistic environment the Fincantieri cutting-edge unmanned system solutions, which include the Multi Mission MUS Toolkit based on the Surface Advanced Naval Drone – SAND together with an innovative Unmanned Management System.
