Fincantieri NexTech, together with the Fincantieri Group, is participating at  Euronaval 2024, the premier international naval defense and maritime security event, starting today at Paris Nord Villepinte, France, and running until 7th November 2024. This participation aligns with Fincantieri Group’s Industrial Plan, which focuses on innovation and the development of the ship of the future.

Multi-Mission MUS Toolkit: Experience the Future of Maritime Defence

Fincantieri NexTech is showcasing the Multi-Mission MUS Toolkit, an innovative, invisible digital link that seamlessly connects the sensors of underwater vehicles. This toolkit is based on the Surface Advanced Naval Drone (SAND) and the Unmanned Management System (UMS).

The upgraded UMS now features new technical and operational solutions, supporting autonomous tasks and ensuring interoperability with other systems through protocols like NATO’s STANAG 4817 and APP-11 for Naval Mine Warfare.

This system enables real-time monitoring, behavior adjustment, and mission reporting, enhancing the efficiency of military operations.

Integrated Cockpit

Another highlight is the Integrated Cockpit, co-developed with Leonardo. This modular and scalable architecture can manage both a boat’s tactical scenario and platform control. It consists of five main subsystems: information presentation and interfacing, navigation, automation, communications, and mission. Designed to meet the operational needs of navies and coast guards, it integrates conducting systems and tactical management for units in low-intensity warfare scenarios.

“IMPERIO” Command & Control System

The “IMPERIO” Command & Control System (C2) for the Italian Army, developed in partnership with Systematic, is also be featured. This powerful and scalable system enhances operational flexibility, minimizes deployment time, and offers extensive interoperability capabilities. Tailored to meet the Italian Army’s requirements, it promotes interoperability within the Italian Armed Forces, NATO, and allied international forces. The IMPERIO system has been successfully used in exercises and will soon be deployed in operational activities.

Shipview, Advanced Training Tool

In the training sector, Fincantieri NexTech presents Shipview, an advanced tool for operator training and crew familiarization. Shipview offers immersive virtual navigation and interactive training experiences. Complementing this is Web-Based Training, customized to specific needs, utilizing modern multimedia and interaction techniques, accessible through Learning Management System platforms, and including certification of objective achievement.

Simulation Solutions

Euronaval 2024 also sees the presentation of the MANTA Family, including the MANTA ASTT (Action Speed Tactical Trainer), Serious Games, X-GEAR, and X-BRIDGE. MANTA ASTT, based on NATO standards, offers detailed scenario customization for multi-domain platforms and realistic training for various command levels. Serious Games provide a virtual environment for specific procedure training, using modern video game technologies. X-GEAR, an augmented reality system, aids operators in maintenance activities, reducing cognitive load and human errors. For the first time at Euronaval, the innovative X-BRIDGE will be presented, enabling real-time visualization of navigation information for bridge crew members.

CyberSecurity

Finally, Fincantieri NexTech introduces a cybersecurity platform designed to handle and recover from cyberattacks targeting a ship’s digital infrastructure. This onboard SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) monitors ship systems, intercepts suspicious behavior, and defines corrective actions through system-tailored playbooks, which can be executed automatically or via guided procedures for crew operators.

Join us at Fincantieri Stand (Hall 6 Booth G10) to experience the forefront of maritime defense technology.
