SAND: our way to bring the future on board

SAND was developed primarily to address recursive or dangerous operational scenario where the use of personnel can be safely and effectively replaced by unmanned/autonomous vessels. Over the past year Fincantieri NexTech has been working on adding new payloads to increase the platform’s flexibility and, consequently, mission set.

The latest addition to SAND is an Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Launch And Recovery System – LARS. This has been designed to release two UUVs in a given area of interest, with their autonomous launch and recovery.
